When people talk about Italy, they always seem to forget Milano. But Milano, my city, is truly beautiful.

To amend this unfairness :D I thought to shoot and post some photos of my city. Heimat. Homeland

:bulletred: This is a series. Click on the link :pointr: to take a look at the other Heimat photos.

Or if you prefer, go directly to my gallery and open the Heimat Series folder.

NOTICE

This work has been heavily reduced in size and watermarked after deviantART decided to implement the "link buttons" that will allow anyone to share/link my art anywhere without my consent, as I explained here. This is not aimed at you, my watchers and friends, and I'm very sorry you can't see my works in the same way as you were used to, but I can't do otherwise if I want to protect my work from uncontrolled use. (You can find a more detailed explanation of this decision in this journal entry.)

DISCLAIMER

Please be warned that, no matter what deviantART may imply with those "link buttons" on the right of this screen, I do not allow their use by anyone in any way. I, the author and copyright owner of the work displayed above, explicitly deny anyone the permission to link, share, diffuse and/or promote my works anywhere outside deviantART.

I can't do anything to prevent other people from using those buttons on my art, thanks to deviantART not giving me an option to disable the "share" feature. This should make you seriously think about what deviantART is allowing anyone to do with your works, but whatever... Now, at least, if someone click those buttons they will know they are doing it without my permission.

If you see my work "shared", please message me straight away.

I love reading those words, "this is my first HDR" and one finds that the photo looks processed by someone who has had years of experience with tonemapping and HDR rendering.
The details here are flawless and the colors are superbly in balance. Though a slightly more impacting subject would of been more interesting, the reflections though, prize the image.
Its a shame you could not walk the other side of the bridge and have that as a left marker and then the church as a main subject, with the trees then marking out the right side. As a HDR that would make a huge impact because the details in organic and manmade would be far more emphasized.
In All a great HDR that shows an eye for the reality of the image rather than going to far into the heavy detail aspect as so many people do with HDR.

Great work.

A gorgeous piece with exquisite lines and colors. Obviously your choice of scenery was lovely to begin with; in fact I think I prefer this perspective to the other in the series (shot simply facing down the canal). Aside from the obvious, I think what truly works here is that you shot HDR; whereas many people shoot images that in no way benefit from HDR, this absolutely does. The depth of the colors and their tones make it feel alive; they bring a well-roundedness to the shot. I feel as though I am standing right there beside you. Beautifully done.

The colors nearly fluoresce in this low angle light, they seem to pop! I love the bridge and the canal reflections. I am somehow slightly distracted wondering what that amazing blue object is and where it is.:giggle: An amazing shot! :flirty:
