This was my tribute to Boffi Design. They do wonderful interiors. One day, maybe, I will have a bathroom like this one.
I played with it adding the colorful towel-tower.
Made with Maya in 2004 as a training project. Modeled with Maya. Textured both inside Maya and with Photoshop. Rendered with Mental Ray using an HDR image and global illumination.
Download button will get you a 1280x1024, if you like.
wow! i'd like a bathroom like this too nice textures and realism! though, I'd have to comment on the light shining through the green thing (what is the green thing?), shouldn't the light on the floor be greener? I could be wrong though. Great job!!
Yes, you're right. That was what I expected too with the render. Instead, it came out a very burned white light... with white caustics too. I think I upped too much the photon energy...

LOL, yes... sorry... often I slip naturally into techie-talk.
When you use global illumination or final gathering or caustics in your render, you decide how many photons a light (or more) is/are emitting, their energy, intensity and color. This is done to keep render times as short as possible. Another way to do that is photon-mapping (use a pre-rendered map of the single photons to shorten render times). Usually the use of photons increases badly render-times... if I remember well, this one took about six hours to render on my PC.
